Dongzhou Island is located in the center of Xiangjiang River in the southeast of Hengyang City, about two kilometers long and more than 200 meters wide.

Dongzhou Island is one of the eight scenic spots in ancient Hengyang. Dongzhou Island in Hengyang, Junshan Mountain in Yueyang and Orange Island in Changsha are also called the three continents of Xiangjiang River Basin.

Dongzhou Island has developed into a tourist attraction in recent years. Once upon a time, there were residents living on the island. In summer, citizens often swam by the river on the island by ferry.

That day, I arrived at Dongzhou Island by bus, passed this antique wooden covered bridge and went directly to the island.

Dongzhou Island is surrounded by water, and a hydrophilic plank road is built along the coast with imitation wood grain materials.

This prairie is relatively empty, and many adults are flying kites with their children.

Go further and you will reach the end of the island. This is a hydrophilic trail, and you can touch the river with your hand. Children like to play with water best, and some take small fish net to catch things in the water and explore nature. Some people throw stones into the water to see how much splash they can make.

Others sat on the shore in a daze, looking at the river. There is a brand-new bridge in the distance. I don't know what its name is or when it was built.

The sky is really beautiful today. The blue sky sets off white clouds like gauze.

This place should have been one of the eight scenic spots in ancient Hengyang, and it was called "Pingsha Wild Goose". There are neither wild geese nor beautiful beaches now.

Seen from the air, Dongzhou Island looks like an ancient shuttle boat, so Dongzhou Island is also called Chuanshan.

Wang Fuzhi, a thinker in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, was born in Hengyang. He studied in an academy on Dongzhou Island and was nicknamed Chuanshan.

This husband's building was built in memory of Wang Fuzhi. It has three floors, all made of wood.

Climb to the second floor and see two girls posing. Looking from the backyard, there is a beautifully designed rain corridor with sloping eaves, which is simple and elegant.

I returned to Taolang Pavilion in the center of the island. On the tablet is Dongzhou Fu written by Chen An, the magistrate of Hengzhou in Ming Dynasty;

Dongzhou Island is really big. It took two hours to see half the island. It is getting late. I still came back from the wooden covered bridge, and the river wind was very cold.

Dongzhou Island, a place with both scenery and culture, is a new leisure and entertainment place for Hengyang people and a new business card for Hengyang.
