Talking about the constraints of traditional diets
Chinese people are proud of the traditional customs of their people, and the celebration of the Spring Festival is a reflection of people's respect for customs and the inheritance of national culture.
"There are two primitive beliefs of human beings, one is the belief in heaven and earth, and the other is the belief in ancestors."
On the occasion of welcoming the New Year and celebrating the New Year, families sit around the fireplace, kowtowing to melon seeds, watching the Spring Festival Gala, and waiting for a traditional food to be served on the table.
China's food culture has a long history, due to the different climate, environment, and products, and the formation of a diverse Chinese food culture.
However, traditional culture has two sides, like the palm of the hand and the back of the hand, seeing one side blocks the other.
Should traditional dishes be innovated? Should the New Year's Eve dinner be prepared in its original form according to traditional dishes? Does innovation mean abandoning traditional culture?
I'm from Fujian, and lo mein is an essential dish in our New Year's Eve dinner, along with oyster cake, red dough, fried tofu, fried lychee meat (pork), and so on.
My mom, who is particularly respectful of tradition, prepares almost every dish to Hokkien standards. She loves these local colors as if only Hokkien food can conquer her taste buds.
On the other hand, she is a very stubborn person. I have begged her many times to change the ingredients of the dishes, but she insisted that it is a traditional dish and cannot be changed.
When I live alone, I don't cook Hokkien, not that I don't know how, but I'm sick of it.
Everyone has different tastes and likes different flavors, and even though there are similarities, there are differences. Although the traditional diet is the heritage left by the old ancestors, but should not be cured into law, should be based on respect for tradition, make appropriate changes to adapt to the needs of different objects, only such a cuisine, will be passed on forever.
After all, people eat for heaven, food is not only fruitful, but also to give people a sense of pleasure, satisfaction.
