Problems that must be paid attention to in Peking Opera singing

There are many details that need to be paid attention to in the process of Peking Opera singing. Let me introduce some problems that must be paid attention to in Peking Opera singing. Welcome to read!

Problems that must be paid attention to in Peking Opera singing

1. Eating words:

Opera actors should pay attention to clear articulation in singing, so that they can pronounce words truly and accurately, and put the lyrics or spoken parts into the audience's ears. "Eating words" means that you can't pronounce words clearly, just like eating words into your stomach. The reason why actors "eat words" is that they can't correctly use lips, teeth, tongue and throat.

2. Inverting Chinese characters

: In order to sing Chinese characters accurately, an opera actor must find out the four tones of Yin, Yang, Shang and Qu. For example, the word "He" belongs to a level tone, and if it is pronounced as a rising tone, it is called a "tower". "Inverting Chinese characters" means not distinguishing four tones.

3. Gone with the wind:

The actor speaks softly and feebly when singing. In Beijing opera singing, we pay great attention to "spout" (i.e. popping sound). The so-called "spout" requires actors to tighten their mouths and use their breath when they pronounce words. "Gone with the wind" is also caused by boring mouth and insufficient breath.

4. Tight mouth:

Also known as "clenching teeth". That is, the actor can't open his mouth when pronouncing words, and the upper and lower teeth are too closed. This problem not only affects the clarity and accuracy of pronunciation, but also causes the straightness and dullness of pronunciation. Most of the reasons for the "clenching teeth" are due to improper training.

5. Maodiao:

When an actor sings, the tune he sings is higher than that stipulated by the accompaniment instrument (Hu Qin or flute), which is called Maodiao. Generally speaking, there are two reasons for this problem. One is that the actor's ear sound is not good and his listening is wrong. Second, the actor is too angry.

6. Flat tune:

Also known as "uncultivated tune" or "Huang Tiao", that is, when an actor sings, the tune he sings is lower than that stipulated by the accompaniment instrument (Hu Qin or flute). There are two reasons for this problem. First, the actor's ear sound is not good and his listening is wrong. Second, the gas is insufficient.

7. Falling:

When an actor sings a little slower than the original rhythm, it is called "falling", which often destroys the correct expression of characters' feelings and drama plots when it appears in key aria. The cause of this problem is mostly due to the lack of proper understanding of the character and plot development in singing. Sometimes the actor's inexperience in singing tunes is also easy to cause this problem.

8. Lose the board:

Also called "walking board". The rhythm of Beijing Opera tunes is divided into "plate" and "eye", where the first beat of the tune is called "plate" and the others are called "eye". For example, according to the law of Beijing opera singing, Erhuang is a board, Xipi is an eye. If you mispronounce the "board" and "eye" in singing, it is generally called "throwing the board". The inversion of "plate" and "eye" will affect the harmony and perfection of tunes in singing.

9. Hengqi:

Peking Opera actors pay great attention to the use of qi in singing, and there is a saying that "qi is the source of sound". The use of the air port not only determines whether the sound is loud or not, but also determines the expression of the song. The air ports in Beijing Opera include inhalation, gas storage, exhalation, ventilation, etc. When singing, the oral spirit is too nervous, and the breath is placed across the chest, so it is impossible to sing freely. Improper use of the air port will also lead to excessive fatigue of the vocal cords.

1. Shuiqiang:

An accomplished Peking Opera artist not only emphasizes the mellow and sweet voice, but also requires the voice to be full of emotion, which is called "full of sound and emotion". However, "Shuiqiang" just lacks the above two points, just like a bowl of white water, which is flat and tasteless. The reason for this problem lies in the lack of singing skills and often the lack of understanding of songs. ;
