What's the story of Mid-Autumn Festival?
Story 1: Moon Cake Uprising
It is said that eating moon cakes in the Mid-Autumn Festival began in the Yuan Dynasty. At that time, the broad masses of the people in the Central Plains could not bear the cruel rule of the ruling class in the Yuan Dynasty and rose up against the Yuan Dynasty. Unite all kinds of resistance forces and prepare for the uprising. However, the officers and men of the imperial court searched very closely and it was very difficult to pass on the news. Liu Bowen, a military strategist, came up with a plan and ordered his men to hide a note with the words "Uprising on the 15th of August" in the cake, and then sent people to the uprising troops in different places to inform them to respond to the uprising on the 15th of August. On the day of the uprising, all the rebels responded together. Soon, Xu Da captured the Yuan Dynasty and the uprising was successful. When the news came, Zhu Yuanzhang was overjoyed and quickly sent a message saying that all the soldiers should have fun with the people in the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, and they should give the "moon cakes" secretly sent at the time of the war as seasonal cakes to the ministers. Since then, the making of "moon cakes" has become more complicated and varied. Since then, the custom of eating moon cakes in the Mid-Autumn Festival has spread among the people.
Story 2 the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon
Houyi shot at the sun, which won people's support, but when he became emperor, Houyi became addicted to debauchery, killed people at will and became a tyrant. He wants to live forever and go to Kunlun Mountain to steal the elixir of the Queen Mother. His wife Chang 'e was afraid that he would live forever and the people would suffer. She stole the elixir and took it, so she flew to the Moon Palace lightly.
Chang 'e is the moon fairy in China mythology. In Shan Hai Jing, the wife of the medieval emperor Hou Yi was called Heng E because of her extraordinary beauty. In the Western Han Dynasty, in order to avoid China Emperor Liu Heng, Chang 'e was changed to Chang 'e, and some people called it Chun Hu.
Story 3: Xuanzong travels to the moon
According to legend, Taoist priests Xuanzong, Shen and Hong all enjoy the moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival. Suddenly, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty put forward the idea of visiting the Moon Palace, so Shi Tianzhao did it, and the three of them began to go to Qingyun and roam the Moon Palace. However, the palace is heavily guarded and cannot enter, so it can only overlook the imperial city of Chang 'an. This time, I suddenly heard a fairy-tale voice, beautiful and wonderful, moving! Tang Xuanzong was always familiar with melody, so he memorized it. This is precisely "this song should only be in the sky, and the world can listen to it several times!" Later, Xuanzong recalled Xian 'e's music and singing in the Moon Palace and composed and choreographed his own music. This is the famous "colorful feather" in history.
Fourth, WU GANG cut Guangxi.
Legend has it that WU GANG, who is guarding the worse gate of heaven, is close to Chang 'e on the moon, so he often goes to meet Chang 'e and neglects his duties. In a rage, the Jade Emperor punished WU GANG for cutting down a tree called laurel on the moon. If he can't cut down that tree, he will never go back to that worse place, let alone see Chang 'e.
WU GANG cut down the tree for half a year, and finally it was almost cut down, but the Jade Emperor sent a crow to take away WU GANG's clothes hanging on the tree. When WU GANG took back his clothes, he found that the cut tree had returned to its original appearance.
From then on, whenever WU GANG quickly cut down trees, crows would come. As long as WU GANG turns to take a look, the tree will be restored to its original state and will never be cut down.
Verb (the abbreviation of verb) Yue Bai, the story of Diexin
According to legend, the story of Diusim in the Three Kingdoms period is very beautiful and has a really beautiful appearance. Legend has it that after the birth of the story of Deusim, the local peach blossoms and apricot blossoms all bloomed in three years. Even Chang 'e felt ashamed of Yue Bai's story in Diusim's night and disappeared in a hurry, which is also the origin of the idiom "Close the moon and be ashamed of flowers". It is precisely because of the story of Diusim's beauty that Lu Bu, who was brave and foolhardy, was puzzled, and Wang Yun's serial plan was successful.
Among these legends, the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon is the most famous and has a high degree of inheritance, so we can't verify that it is the real origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival. But we should know these legends. If you have anything to add or say, please leave a message in the comments below.
