A Brief Introduction to "Step on a Tiger and Carve Flowers"

Carving on a tiger is a unique traditional folk handicraft in luxi county, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. It is named after it originated from the village of stepping on a tiger. Fighting tigers and chiseling flowers originated from the blueprint of Miao costumes, with diverse patterns and complete varieties. This paper-cut is not hinged with scissors, but cut with a meat cleaver. Most of them are used as embroidery patterns and decorations in celebrations and sacrificial ceremonies, which play an important role in the field of Miao costumes in western Hunan. They are called "civilizations embroidered on clothes" and are well-known at home and abroad for their unique national characteristics, distinctive artistic personality and exquisite craftsmanship. List the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage expansion projects in China.
