Confucianism attaches great importance to the cultivation of moral character. This paper tries to analyze how Confucianism requires people to cultivate moral quality from three articles: on filial piety, on learning and on making friends. In terms of discussion and learning, discussion and learning means seeking knowledge. Reading should take its essence and discard its dross. Confucius once put forward the famous viewpoint of "harmony without difference". He said: "Gentlemen are harmonious but different, while villains are at odds."
