Yu Hong's disciples followed his instructions and celebrated this day, and gradually formed the tradition of Chung Yeung Festival.

The Chongyang Festival is also closely related to Taoism. Taoism believes that yang energy is at its peak on the ninth day of the ninth month, when the yang energy of all things reaches its peak.
