The difference between variation, metamorphosis and variation of plants
Plant variation is related to heredity, which can be divided into heritable variation and non-heritable variation. Genetic variation can be divided into gene recombination, chromosome variation and gene mutation. For example, hybridization between lodging-resistant rice and non-lodging-resistant rice (gene recombination), polyploid strawberry (chromosome variation) and gene mutation (space tomato).
Plant metamorphosis refers to the change of shape, structure and function. For example, carrots are the roots of abnormal plants, and potatoes are the stems of abnormal plants.
Plant varieties are related to taxonomy. The classification system of organisms is from big to small, that is, boundaries, phyla, classes, orders, families, genera and species, and varieties belong to a subunit under species. For example, Acanthopanax senticosus is a variety of Pinus massoniana, which means that they belong to the same species, but they are not exactly the same in form.
