How to integrate the traditional aesthetics of Japanese architecture into modern architecture
In the early days when modern architecture entered Japan, there was "how to make modern architecture take root in the reality of Japan", that is, how to realize the transformation from the outer edge to the inner core. In the face of the all-round introduction of the outer culture, it was so strange and helpless at first, but a broken roof was added to the reinforced concrete building, which was called "crown style" and "details and changes" Later, with modern architectural theory as the filter, architects who are brave in exploration re-examined the essential characteristics of the "core" of Japanese traditional culture, and found that its spatial fluidity, simple technology, consistency of structure and expression, and integration of materials and nature all coincided with modern architecture, thus affirming the value of Japanese architecture and laying a national confidence for the transformation of cultural "outer edge" to "inner edge". Then, Japanese architects studied extensively, searched for materials from the whole history, and explored the relationship between "core" and "outer edge" of culture in a diversified and all-round way. For example, they advocated grasping traditional culture from space, abstracting the concept of "infinite space" from it, and transforming the relationship between "outer edge" and "core" into materials that may be used in modern architecture, mainly concrete. It can easily and naturally express the cultural characteristics with "stone" as the main material and the "dignified" of western architecture, but it is difficult to express the unique "lightness" cultural characteristics of Japanese architecture by depicting the wooden frame with reinforced concrete. Japanese architects comprehensively used the expression of structural forms, especially a large number of studies on detailed structures, which showed the cultural characteristics of Japanese architecture incisively and vividly. Japan, which belongs to the category of oriental culture, has successfully transformed its architectural culture from "outer edge" to "inner core" culture, which deserves our study and reference. After five thousand years of historical precipitation, the core quality of China culture has become huge, showing great independence, purity and inheritance. While proud of its long history and culture, this "core" culture is overloaded slowly, and its ability to respond and accept foreign cultures is relatively insufficient. Therefore, in order to get rid of the unfavorable factors that the "core" of our own culture is too heavy, we should stand in a favorable position to absorb "foreign" culture, accept the essence of modern civilization shared by human beings, digest, absorb and innovate, make it melt into the "core" of China architectural culture, and accelerate this transformation. Japan has a distinctive and strong traditional culture, an inherent and unique architectural concept, and at the same time it has the tolerance and absorption of foreign cultures. There are many theories and schools in Japan in terms of creative methods. For example, the older generation architect Fujimura has always kept a certain distance from modern architecture. Ge Qinxian-san, on the other hand, has been committed to the modern architectural movement in Japan, making it gradually occupy a dominant position in the Japanese architectural world; Isozaki's new visual language is to find out the language he thinks is suitable in the context of the world; Kurokawa Zhang Ji wanted to express the theme of modern Japan in oriental thought; Tadao Ando's simplest fair-faced concrete texture embodies low technology-high manual technology.
