Pingju Art Festival

Pingju is one of the traditional operas with a long history and a broad mass base in China. Founded in 2000, China Pingju Art Festival is an annual national large-scale drama art festival co-sponsored by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture, the Hebei Provincial Department of Culture and the Tangshan Municipal People's Government. From the fourth session to every two years, the venue is located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, the birthplace of Pingju.

China Pingju Art Festival aims to inherit, develop and promote the art of Pingju, and constantly expand its influence at home and abroad. The contents of the festival include the selection and performance of outstanding plays, the holding of seminars on Pingju art, the organization of Pingju lovers' performance competitions and Pingju film screening week.
