The classic repertoire of Flower Drum Opera
Flower Drum Opera's classic repertoire includes "Liu Hai Chopping Woodcutter," "Mending Pot," "Playing the Causeway," "San Li Wan," "Playing the Bird," "Lulin Club," and so on.
1, "Liu Hai Chopping Woodcutter"
Flower Drum Opera classics ranked first is undoubtedly the "Liu Hai Chopping Woodcutter," which is a traditional play by the collation of the traditional drama, narrating the story of the young farmer Liu Hai and the village girl Hu Xiuying love marriage story, the plot is vivid and touching, the style of the fresh and sincere. Over the past few decades, Liu Hai Chopping Woodcutter has been sung for a long time, spreading throughout the country, and has been performed many times outside of the province and abroad, so that it has become a household name, and almost everyone in Changsha is able to sing and perform it.
2, "Mending Pot"
The famous flower-drum opera "Mending Pot", originally titled "Mending Vat", was renamed "Mending Pot" in 1964, and premiered by Hunan Provincial Flower Drum Opera Theater. The play is about a young woman, Liu Lanying, who falls in love with a young pot-mender, Li Xiaocong, and transforms the backwardness of Lanying's mother, Liu Danniang. The play reflects the new style of young men and women in contemporary rural areas to break through the secular concepts, love the countryside, love labor, love new life, free love, and strive to be the new socialist youth.
3. "Playing the gong"
"Playing the gong" is also one of the representative repertoire of Hunan Flower Drum Opera. The play is based on Ke Lan's novel, "Three Beatings of the Gong," which tells the story of Cai Jiu, a member of the society who sticks to his principles, criticizes and educates the selfish Lin Danniang, and defends the interests of the collective. The plots of the two plays are very vivid and funny, the characters are very prominent, the performances are wonderful, the singing words are sharp, and they are also rich in profound educational significance. The comedic style of the plays was perfectly combined with song and dance performances. After the performance, the two plays were quickly welcomed by the audience, and made into a movie, which was very popular for a while.
4, "Sanliwan"
"Sanliwan" is a good-looking flower-drum opera recommended in the must-have masterpiece, which is based on the novel of the same name by Zhao Shuli, the play by the Hunan Flower Drum Troupe premiered in 1957, the degree of opera is high, the characters are distinctive, the language is vivid, and the flavor of life is strong. It has been widely transplanted and performed all over the country. In 1979, it took part in the performance dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the founding of the country and won the second prize for creation and the second prize for performance.
5. Playing Birds
Playing Birds, also known as Wang San Singijin. 6, "Lulin Club"
The traditional flower-drum opera play "Lulin Club" is a drama in which the old man and the youngest dancer sing. It depicts a poor scholar, Jiang Shi, who disregards his mother's order to marry his wife and wrongly repudiates her, Pang Sanniang. Sanniang is sent to live in a nunnery after being repudiated. One day, she goes to the Lulin Forest to collect firewood for cooking carp to honor her mother-in-law, and meets with Jiang Shi, who justifies her case and clarifies her wrongdoing. Jiang Shi was y touched, and intended to rekindle the old friendship, but was afraid of risking the name of "obedience to the wife and mother", grief, it is difficult to self-determination, the couple had to shed tears and the story of goodbye.
There is a section in the opera called "The Moon Watching Tune", which is special for this opera, divided into rounds of singing, repetitive singing and chorus, with smooth melodic rhythms and unique features in the gong cavity, and is found in Chaozhou Opera, Hunan Opera, Kun Opera, Qin Opera, Yu Opera and other types of operas.
