Brief introduction of Shitang town
Shitang Town is located in Feidong County, Anhui Province, bordering Nanjing in the east and Chaohu Lake in the south, enjoying the location advantage of Hefei metropolis. Located at the entrance and exit of Hewubeng expressway, it is the bridgehead of the eastward development strategy proposed by the provincial party committee and government. According to legend, Shitangqiao was called Liushudian in ancient times. During the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Shitang Bridge because of the stone arch bridge and three large ponds. During the Republic of China, Shitangqiao was a large commercial market town in Dongxiang, Hefei County. At that time, there were 30 grain shops, yarn shops, cotton shops, hoof shops and poultry and aquatic products shops, which were famous for farming cattle, yarn and grain. Before 1949, Shitang Bridge was under the jurisdiction of Shitang Township, Hefei County. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), Shitang Bridge is the resident of Shitang Township People's Government, Shitang District Office and Shitang People's Commune. 1992 Shitang Township merged with Longcheng Town to form Shitang Town. In June 2006, Wang Tie Township was merged into Shitang Town. Shitang Town is a national civilized town, the first civilized town in Anhui Province and the central town in Anhui Province. The town covers an area of 120.3 square kilometers, with an area of 4,600 hectares of cultivated land. It has jurisdiction over 14 village committees and 5 community committees, with a population of 7 10000, including urban population 12000. Shitang town has developed transportation. Wu He and Ning expressway pass through the town with entrances and exits. The town has convenient transportation and highways extending in all directions. Shitang Town is an important business town in the middle and east of Feidong County. There are five professional markets, including building materials, grain and oil, agricultural products, small commodities and animal husbandry trading, with more than 600 self-employed households, with a strong business atmosphere and an attractive radius of 30 kilometers. The local specialties of Shitang Town are "Shitang Donkey Bar" and "Fu Cha Wu Yun" tea, which have a long-standing reputation and are favored by customers, and are the second best tea in Shitang.
