CHEN JIAYAO

CHEN JIAYAO (1865-1903) was a native of Chikan Chenya harbor. He was a hero who fought against the French. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, France invaded Guangzhou Bay, and Chan Ka Yiu led an anti-French regiment to fight against the French colonial invaders. He died at the age of 38 in 1903. His deeds were compiled into the Genealogy of Heroes of the French Resistance and the Chronicle of the Zhanjiang People's Resistance to the Invasion of the French Empire.

Chen Jialun

Chen Jialun (1850-1905) was originally from Futian, Fujian Province, and moved to Wan Dong Village, Chikan. He was a hero of the resistance against the French.

Liang Weiping

Liang Weiping (1958-1979), a native of Chikan District, Zhanjiang City, joined the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in March 1979 as a soldier of the 73rd detachment of the 53051st unit, and was killed in February 1979 in the war of self-defense against Vietnam on the Sino-Vietnamese border.
