Children who make traditional guitar instruments

I heard that students need to make their own guitars and perform a song in high school physics experiments. Now, in the face of these smart children in Guan 'ai Primary School, I am confident that they can at least make musical instruments that can play notes with rubber bands. However, the high cost of strings in rural China is really staggering, so we chose an economical rubber band as a substitute. Our goal is to make an instrument that can play scales with only eight rubber bands!

material preparation

Making musical instruments requires preparing chips, stones, cardboard, pencils, rulers, pencil boxes and other stationery. These materials can help children to be more creative and make unique musical instruments.

Unlimited creativity

The children's creativity and efforts were not in vain. They use cotton thread instead of rubber band, because cotton thread is thicker and deeper; Some groups combine two rubber bands to get a lower sound; Some students even found that pressing the rubber band while playing can improve the tone. Their creativity and hard work let us see the infinite potential of children.

Make a guitar

Among them, the creativity of a group is particularly prominent. They decided to make a guitar, so they found cardboard and cut it into the shape of a small guitar. Although the appearance is not beautiful, it is creative. They wound the rubber band horizontally around the cardboard. Because the winding part is round, the tightness of each rubber band is different, so different scales can be issued.

The combination of music and physics

Although they have learned the "sound" unit in the textbook, it seems that the students have not been able to perfectly combine what they have learned with the making of musical instruments. Most groups are trying to launch various objects with rubber bands, while others are obsessed with the wonderful sound effects produced when pulling three rubber bands at the same time. Making musical instruments can not only make children feel the beauty of music, but also make them better understand the principles of physics.
