What materials do pigments in ancient paintings come from?
After Wei and Jin Dynasties, the color varieties of Chinese painting pigments became more and more abundant, especially Dunhuang art. According to research and analysis, the pigments used in Dunhuang murals are cinnabar, red soil, realgar, red lead, iron red, rouge, cinnabar, and the green ones are stone green (malachite).
Azurite in blue and lapis lazuli from Central Asia, and Garcinia in yellow are all pigments that have continued to this day. Mineral pigment: 1. Stone green: usually in powder form, it must be mixed with glue when used.
