The Second Second National Games was held on September 11, 1965 - September 28, 1965 in Beijing. At the opening ceremony, more than 16,000 people performed the large-scale group exercise "Revolutionary Hymn". *** There were 5,014 participants.

The Fifth Fifth National Games September 18, 1983 - October 1, 1983 held in Shanghai, the competition has 25 items, 1 performance items, 31 teams of 8943 athletes participated.
The competition items: soccer, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, tennis, handball, field hockey, track and field, gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, weightlifting, swimming, diving, water polo, sailing, windsurfing, archery, shooting, fencing, cycling, wrestling, judo, wushu performances, rowing, kayaking. Among them, artistic gymnastics, judo, windsurfing and field hockey are new competitions.

Sixth Sixth National Games November 20, 1987 - December 5, 1987 held in Guangdong Province, which is China's history on the largest scale of a sports event, *** there are 37 teams of 7,228 athletes to participate in the finals, set up 44 competitions.

The 7th 7th National Games was hosted by Beijing and co-organized by Qinhuangdao City and Sichuan Province. The Beijing competition was held from September 04, 1993 to September 10, 1993. The 11th Eleventh National Games were held from October 16, 2009 - October 28, 2009 in Shandong Province. The delegation*** consisted of 41 provinces, cities and sports associations.

The Twelfth Twelfth National Games was held on August 31, 2013 - September 12, 2013 in Liaoning Province. This year's National Games is located in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, the other 13 cities have sub-regional, **** from the provinces (cities, districts), the People's Liberation Army, the industry Association of 33 teams more than 9,000 athletes to participate. The 13th Thirteenth National Games will be held from August 27, 2017 to September 08, 2017 in Tianjin. Tianjin successfully obtained the right to host the 13th National Games on August 16, 2011, the fourth province and city to host the Games after Jiangsu, Shandong and Liaoning, after the central government abolished the monopoly of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.
The 14th Fourteenth National Games will be held in 2021-2021 in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, in November 2015, the General Office of the State General Administration of Sports issued the "Notice on the Announcement of Candidates for the Hosting of the 14th National Games", which mentioned that Shaanxi Province is the only candidate for bidding to host the 14th National Games, and that, after reviewing and studying the matter, it has been determined that Shaanxi Province as the candidate for hosting the 14th National Games.
Funding for the preparation and organization of the 14th National Games will mainly be self-financed by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, with a one-time flat-rate subsidy from the central government; the funds required for the construction of the venues and facilities will be borne by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government itself. The 15th 15th National Games will be held in Changsha, Hunan Province in 2025-2025.
