Brief introduction of Zhenghe Park in Kunyang Town, Jinning County

Zhenghe Park is located in Kunyang Town, Jinning County, 60 kilometers away from Kunming. The park covers an area of 250 mu and was built in 1980. This is a memorial garden built in memory of Zheng He, a great navigator of the Ming Dynasty.

From the gate of the park, the first thing you see are the reliefs on both sides (Zheng He's seven voyages to the West). Zheng He stands tall and commanding, and is leading the fleet to the Western Ocean, recreating the life and achievements of the great navigator Zheng He. There is also a 1600 square meter Zheng He Memorial Hall in the park, which displays information about Zheng He's seven voyages to the West. There are Zheng He Memorial Pavilion, Zheng He's father cemetery and Zheng He's grandfather cemetery at the intersection of Kunming's old civil aviation.

Zheng He (137 1- 1435), whose real name is Ma, a native of China and a native of Kunyang, entered the palace as a eunuch. Because of his meritorious service, he was elected as the eunuch in the inner palace and was called the eunuch. The Yellow Emperor named him Zheng.

During the 28 years from 1405 to 1433, Ming Chengzu sent Zheng He to lead a fleet of more than 27,800 people, with 62 large ships, and made seven voyages to the Western Ocean (countries and regions west of the South China Sea in China, countries and regions along the coast of South Asia and the Indian Ocean) and visited Vietnam, India, Thailand, Iran, Yemen and Somalia. He traveled around the world 100 years before Magellan. O Zheng He has made outstanding contributions to world navigation in order to enhance the friendship between China and the people of Asian and African countries, develop economic and cultural relations. Therefore, he is loved by people at home and abroad. O Now, in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and other countries, there are still relics commemorating Zheng He (Three Pagodas) and (Sambo City).
