What good habits do you have to be diligent and thrifty in your life?

Farmers often say that saving means making money. I have always adhered to the principle of increasing revenue and reducing expenditure in my life. Now I want to share it with you and introduce it to you from four aspects of food, clothing, housing and transportation.

First, clothes! A hat or a piece of clothing can be worn for several more years. I don’t know what materials used to make clothes. A suit I bought in 2000 is still not in tatters, it’s just cracked. I sewed them up again with needle and thread. My slippers were rotten and I couldn't bear to throw them away, so I cut off a piece of old plastic from my old slippers. Take a knife and heat it red on the stove. Press the old plastic piece against the torn area, insert the red-hot knife into it, and pull it out. The old slippers have been mended! Some people say that buying a new pair is the end of it! No, I want to save! Some people say that it is more convenient to use 502 glue for bonding. I said: "502 costs three yuan a bottle! Utilize waste and kill two birds with one stone! Money should be spent wisely! 502 I keep sticky leather shoes." I have worn a pair of leather shoes for twenty years, but I still can't bear to throw them away. Open the glue and glue it together. It's very torn, but it has a nylon cord. I used an awl to sew it up myself, and I can continue to wear it! When I buy pants, I try to buy jeans. why? Because you can continue to wear jeans after they are torn. If the sleeves of a denim jacket are torn, just cut them off and change them into a vest. There were holes in the knees of the jeans, so they were cut off and turned into jodhpurs and shorts. Outsiders didn’t know the inside story and thought it was a new product! Suits should be worn for as many years as possible and mended for another three years. The clothes and pants can no longer be worn, so the cotton ones are used as rags; the other materials are torn into strands and used as ropes to bind firewood.

Second, food! "Food is the most important thing for the people"! The knowledge in this area is also the greatest! Many people have ruined their families because of their reckless eating and drinking! My experience is don’t buy expensive ones, only buy the right ones. Many people like to drink carbonated drinks. I drink tap water all year round. I think tap water tastes sweeter than carbonated drinks. Medical scientists believe that carbonated drinks can corrode teeth. I spent less money and got better health. How wise I am! I don't drink other drinks either. Tea leaves are never used. Only have a drink with guests when they come over.

As for water use, I can say that I am a model of water conservation. I always use the shower and the water flows slowly. In a year, we can save 12 times the amount of water than our neighbors. When cooking, I soak the rice all day and night in advance. When cooking rice the next day, you can save time and firewood, and also reduce losses caused by water evaporation. When cooking noodles, after the water boils, immediately reduce the heat to low. When eating, I will not waste every grain of rice. For dishes, try to choose cheap fruits and vegetables, and try to choose those that are in season. Because seasonal fruits and vegetables are cheap, “Persimmons in June are rotten and cheap!” In fact, cheap does not mean inferior quality. For example, cabbage is very beneficial to human health and is a healthy vegetable recommended by the World Health Organization.

Let’s talk about cooking pots and pans. My little pot has been in use for thirty years! There is a small hole in the pot, so use two steel skewers to fit it together on both sides, and fix it with screws so you can continue to use it. Now there is an aluminum alloy tape on the market that just sticks on it. You can try it if your pots and pans are broken. It is very convenient! My family has had a ladle for more than 40 years, ever since I was born. I accidentally broke it a few years ago, so I screwed it back on! The scoop handle is short, but it does not affect its use. The jar and basin were cracked, and the basin and bowl were no longer used in recent years. It doesn't matter, just drill the hole with your hand drill, pass the copper wire through it, tighten it with pliers and "it's time to work!"

Third, stay! Housing is the most expensive item in life. Many people spend their entire lives struggling to make money to buy a house. Regarding housing, I would like to make a few points. First of all, it can protect against wind and rain, and there is no need to pursue excessive size or luxury. No matter how big or luxurious the house is, the shelter is only seven feet. Secondly, the house should be lived in for as many years as possible, so that you can save money! In rural areas, adobe houses can last for forty or fifty years. Due to careful and careful care, our house is now sixty years old! Third, there should be as little furniture as possible in the house. On the one hand, it can reduce expenses, on the other hand, it can make the indoor dry and extend the life of the house. Fourth, do not over-decorate the house. Excessive decoration can easily damage the structure of the house and increase the cost. My house is just painted with a layer of whitewash, which is white and pleasing to the eye! The suspended ceiling does not use PVC, but uses traditional ceiling-baring techniques. A few days ago, the wind was relatively strong, and my friend's PVC was blown down. But my newspaper-pasted ceiling was safe and sound, so lucky! The doors and windows of the house are divided into plastic steel, wood and aluminum alloy according to the material. It is recommended that friends use plastic steel because it is the cheapest. Our house originally had window lattice windows (a series of wooden lattice windows, which young people have never seen before), which have rotted away due to weather and rain. Now it is made of plastic steel and has been used for 21 years. The effect is not inferior to that of aluminum alloy!

Let’s talk about electricity consumption in houses. The TV sets in our house are just decorations and we hardly watch them! In order to save electricity in summer, we place a bed under the big locust tree during the day, not to mention how cool it is! I basically kept the doors and windows closed all day long to prevent the heat from entering the house. At dusk, open the windows to let in the cool air.

When you go outside to chat with others before going to bed at night, you don’t need an electric fan – it saves energy! Come ten o'clock, come back and go to bed! It's cool in the house! In winter, basically don’t light the stove during the day, and light it after four o’clock in the afternoon to save coal!

Fourth, OK! I usually walk when I go out! For longer distances, ride a bike! No matter how far you go, ride an electric bike! For long journeys, take a bus!
