Who made the paper boat?

1923 In early summer, Bing Xin graduated from yenching university. In August 17 of the same year, she went to study in the United States by mail ship Yorkshire from Shanghai. Arrived in Kobe, Japan on August 19, and visited Yokohama on August 2 1. Judging from the writing time, this poem was written by the poet on a seagoing ship that continued to sail to the other side of the ocean on the sixth day after his visit to Yokohama.

The sparkling waves and surging tides revived the poet's childlike innocence of loving the sea; Green sea water and flying seagulls make the poet close to nature again. In the sea life about ten days after starting from Wusongkou, the three pillars of Bingxin's early philosophy of "love"-maternal love, childlike innocence and nature, only "childlike innocence" and "nature" can be revived and reappeared at this time, while "maternal love" can't be close because it is far away from her mother. Therefore, the poet especially misses his mother, and even gets sick because he misses her, and recovers because he sees her in his dream. This poem expresses the poet's deep affection for his mother.

The first verse of the poem begins with his childish behavior-folding paper into a boat, saying that he refused to abandon a piece of paper on a seagoing ship and kept folding it into a boat and throwing it into the sea. Seemingly dull quatrains pave the way for the outbreak of feelings. The second section describes the whereabouts of the paper boat thrown from the ship. "Some were blown into the window of the ship by the wind, and some were wet by the waves and stained on the bow." All these destinations are not in line with the poet's sincere wishes. She "always wants a place that can only flow where I want it to go." To this end, she "is still not discouraged and folds every day." This shows the intensity and sincerity of her desire. As for where the paper boat is expected to flow, the poet did not make it clear in this section, which caused suspense and thought-provoking. The poet naturally understood that the paper boat could not flow to his mother, so the third verse of the poem turned out new ideas. The poet dreamed of seeing a white boat in his mother's dream. If this kind of imagination is still general, "don't wonder that it dreams for no reason" shows the strangeness of the poet's imagination. So, why not let mom be surprised by the dream of the boat? Poets use the method of "dying to show their will". At the end of the poem, he pointed out that the imaginary paper boat that entered his mother's dream was folded by her with tears. She prayed that the paper boat would bring her love for her mother and the sadness caused by being away from her mother to her side. This ending is the climax of the whole poem.

Missing my mother's feelings is abstract and easy to be vague. This poem is novel in conception, and the poet uses the technique of expressing emotion by supporting things, so the expression of feelings is vivid, concrete, implicit and profound. In addition, the lines of this poem are very long, and the intonation is slow, which echoes the long-standing yearning for the mother.
