What is metrical poetry?

The so-called metrical poetry is to write poetry according to certain metrical procedures. The Tang people absorbed the reasonable core of the theory of four tones and eight diseases in Yongming style poetry of the Six Dynasties, advocated parallel prose in parallel prose and prose, and further standardized it, resulting in a new style of regular poetry. These laws mainly include: the tone should conform to the level tone law. If the antithesis of the last couplet of five words is flat and parallel, then the sentence of the next couplet should also be flat and parallel, and the rest are repeated. The syntax of words should meet the requirements of duality. Metric poems are mostly composed of eight sentences in quadruplicate, which are called first couplet, parallel couplet, neck couplet and tail couplet respectively. Among them, the second couplet and the third couplet should be strict antitheses, and the first couplet and the fourth couplet can be right or wrong. Related to this, the five-character and seven-character quatrains developed from four short poems in the Six Dynasties were gradually legalized, and they were called quatrains, and their rhythm and antithesis rules could conform to any one of the first two couplets, the last two couplets, the middle two couplets or the first two couplets. Metric poems and metrical poems are more catchy and full of musical beauty because of their clear and harmonious rhythm and orderly tone.
