What is the function of flashbacks?
Flashback is a method of expression in literature and drama, which refers to describing events out of chronological order. Describe the end of the event or some plots first, and then go back to describe the process. It can give readers a feeling of going back in time. It often appears in the college entrance examination and is one of the narrative methods that students must master.
There are three main functions: function one: it can enhance the vividness of the article, make it suspenseful and fascinating, and avoid the monotony of narrative. Function 2: arouse suspense and arouse readers' thinking about the article. Function 3: Flashback disrupts the sequence of events and makes people enter the critical moment of story development unprepared. Make the story more thrilling.
Movies and novels often use flashbacks to make the audience think, so as to look at the next story with thinking.
