Founding origin
It is said that Tai Ji Chuan originated from Chen. Chen Bushan is a martial arts expert. He once established a martial arts club in the village, which enabled Chen to practice boxing and dancing from generation to generation. At the end of Ming Dynasty, Chen, the ninth Chen, based on the ancestral boxing, absorbed the essence of excellent folk boxing, combined with the guidance, breathing and collaterals of traditional Chinese medicine, created a new family boxing, which was named Tai Ji Chuan according to the transformation of yin and yang.
Chen Changxing, 14th Chen, Guangkai Boxing Gate, was a famous disciple of Yang Luchan, a native of Yongnian, Hebei Province. Later, the biography of Chen Taiji gradually evolved into the representative school of "Yang, Wu, Wu and Sun" in China.
In other words, Zhang Sanfeng founded Wu Tangmen and started family boxing. As the head of family boxing, Taiji Chuan respectfully calls Zhang Sanfeng the founder, which is a natural attribution. Zhang Sanfeng's Tai Ji Chuan, Bagua Boxing, Xingyiquan, five elements boxing, Mixed Yuan Boxing, Xuanwu Stick, etc. They all draw the essence from the Taoist scriptures and extend them.
All the boxing methods created by Zhang Sanfeng have a common feature, that is, they pay attention to internal strength and the change of Yin and Yang, stress the coordination and unity of meaning, qi and strength, act calmly, pose implicitly, have strong strength and carefree spirit. These characteristics are in line with the Taoist thought of quietness, weakness, indifference and inaction, and with the Taoist practice of "three treasures", which can be said to be a precious historical and cultural heritage left to future generations.
