Spinning wheel unearthed from the half slope of primitive farming
This is 1955 unearthed from Banpo Site in Xi City, Shaanxi Province. The spinning wheel is 6 cm in diameter with a round hole in the middle. It is a ceramic product. It is the earliest twisting tool invented by China in ancient times, that is, inserting a rod into a small hole in the middle of the spinning wheel, twisting the fibers together through the rotation of the spinning wheel, and synthesizing a single fiber into multiple stronger "threads" in the same way. In other cultural sites after Banpo, various forms of ceramic spinning wheels were also unearthed, which shows that this twisting tool was widely used at that time.
