Miao Year, the first year of Miao calendar, is called "Nengyangxi" in English and "Yang Neng" in Miao language, which is a traditional folk custom of Miao nationality and one of the national intangible cultural heritages. Miao Year is the Miao New Year, which is generally held at the end of autumn harvest and the end of one year's farm work. Dong Nationality Year is a traditional folk activity popular in Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, and it is one of the national intangible cultural heritages. Dong Year is a traditional festival for Dong people to thank their ancestors for their blessings. This is also a festival to celebrate the Dong family's reunion and harvest. At the same time, it is also a festival to show Dong culture. It is mainly distributed in the Dong nationality areas such as Li Le 72 Village and Zhaihao 48 Village in the northwest of Rongjiang River.
The most important ceremony in the Dong nationality year is "fighting and killing" (that is, singing to worship ancestors). The purpose of "fighting sand" is not only to worship ancestors, but also a form for the old people to inherit the excellent traditional culture of the nation. Whether children, adults or young people are newly married, the elderly should educate the next generation to obey the rules, distinguish between right and wrong, manage the family diligently, respect the old and love the young.
