Our composition on the third day after the festival is 750 words.
Grave-sweeping in Tomb-Sweeping Day is very common, but in my mind, this is the first time.
I saw a white tombstone from a distance. Dressing is quite meticulous, with a general charm: the blue and white tombstone is engraved with the names of several ancestors, made of cinnabar. Behind it is a dome like a yurt, which I think is the soul of the dead. They are surrounded by a circle of equally white stone railings and stand upright like soldiers guarding the territory. Not as horrible as described in the novel, but I feel quieter and more solemn.
Dad helped grandpa put colorful bowls on the table. Then, my grandfather and I knelt down together. I didn't notice that there were two big red futons in front of the monument. First put your hands together on your chest, then bend over and spend money on the ground with your hands, and so on for three times. Every time I do it slowly, like a devout believer worshipping in a solemn cathedral. They look serious, as if they were talking to their ancestors. I am in awe of their action expressions. But I don't want to bow to the soul I've never met, so I learned from them, crossed my hands on my chest and bowed respectfully three times.
In such a quiet holy place, time seems to be condensed until the light rain will rest, and we suddenly realize that it is already a morning. When we drove away, I couldn't help looking back. Before I saw the white stone tablet, a little golden light flashed in the misty rain and would not disappear. That is the awe of the living for the dead, the respect of the younger generation for the older generation, and the eternal glory of Chinese culture.
I used to despise it. Personally, I think that although they are my ancestors, they have never met and are not great men. What is there to respect? From that day on, I realized that this is a memorial to our ancestors and the deceased, and a respect for life handed down from generation to generation. This is an integral part of China's traditional culture. Although it is a drop in the ocean, it is the blood inheritance of our national spirit.
Tomb-Sweeping Day seems to be much colder than other festivals, but it also has the hottest temperature. On this day, we talk to our ancestors, pursue the future cautiously, remember the present and cherish the present.
This is the festival of the deceased ancestors, and it is also our festival.
