Advantages and disadvantages of monolithic track bed in subway
The monolithic track bed is made of concrete. Wooden sleepers, concrete sleepers or short concrete sleepers can be embedded in the ballast bed, and fasteners, elastic pads and rails can also be directly installed on the concrete monolithic ballast bed, which is also called monolithic ballast bed.
Advantages The monolithic ballast bed has many advantages, such as less maintenance workload, simple structure, strong integrity, clean surface and so on, and is widely used in railways at home and abroad. China began to lay monolithic track beds in 1957.
Disadvantages: As the integral ballast bed is continuous cast-in-place concrete, once the basement sinks, it is extremely difficult to repair. Therefore, the quality of design and construction is required to be high, and at the same time, the whole ballast bed is required to be laid in the tunnel or on the hard foundation such as stone subgrade as much as possible.
