What does CR galvanizing process mean?
The CR galvanizing process is an environmentally friendly galvanizing process that uses trivalent chromium (CR+3) for passivation to slow down corrosion.
The CR galvanizing process is an environmentally friendly galvanizing process that uses trivalent chromium (CR+3) for passivation.
In this process, a layer of chromate conversion coating is formed on the surface of the galvanized layer, which can effectively prevent metal oxidation, improve the material's wear resistance, conductivity, reflectivity, corrosion resistance, and increase its aesthetics.
In contrast, hexavalent chromium (CR+6) used in traditional galvanizing processes is a carcinogen and is therefore restricted by various countries and will gradually be banned.
In order to replace hexavalent chromium, researchers have developed trivalent chromium or chromium-free passivation processes to ensure the environmental protection and safety of the galvanizing process.
These processes achieve galvanizing protection while reducing potential harm to the environment and human health.
