Seabuckthorn is a precious Chinese medicine.

The ancient Greeks discovered that Hippophae rhamnoides L. had therapeutic effects long ago. It is said that in ancient Greece, even a seriously ill horse would become fat and strong with shiny fur after grazing in seabuckthorn woodland for a period of time. 2. Main medicinal effects of Hippophae rhamnoides.

(1) Total flavonoids of Hippophae rhamnoides can enhance heart function.

Total flavonoids (TFH) extracted from the fruits and leaves of Hippophae rhamnoides is a group of compounds containing seven flavonoids. The contents of isorhamnetin and quercetin are higher. Zhang Maoshun and Wang Jialiang of West China University of Medical Sciences studied the treatment of coronary heart disease with seabuckthorn TFH. Total flavonoids of Hippophae rhamnoides can relieve angina pectoris, improve cardiac function and ischemic electrocardiogram. This is related to TFH's effects of increasing growth rate and coronary blood volume, increasing myocardial nutrient blood flow, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption and inhibiting platelet victory.

The "Flavonoids from Willow Vinegar Tablets (Seabuckthorn)" produced by Tongliao Pharmaceutical Factory in Inner Mongolia, 1992, was awarded as an excellent new product in the autonomous region. Through clinical observation of 303 cases in seven hospitals including Tongren Hospital, xuanwu hospital and Friendship Hospital affiliated to Beijing Capital Medical College, the total effective rate of treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is 90.88%, and the total effective rate of improving ischemic electrocardiogram is 49.465438 0%. At present, the drug has obtained the batch number of "Zhunzi" and has become a good medicine for treating coronary heart disease and angina pectoris.

West China University of Medical Sciences has also achieved good results in treating ischemic heart disease with total flavonoids of Hippophae rhamnoides. Among 40 patients with ischemic heart disease, angina pectoris disappeared 3 1 case, 7 cases were relieved, 2 cases were ineffective, and the effective rate was 95%. The effective rate of improving ischemic electrocardiogram is 85%. The shortest time for angina pectoris to disappear is one day, the longest is 78 days, and the average waiting time is 4 days.

(2) Therapeutic effect on respiratory diseases

Recent studies have proved that quercetin is one of the main flavonoids in seabuckthorn and has been used to treat chronic bronchitis. After taking traditional Chinese medicine for 0-30 days, the total effective rate is 85%-98.3%, and the remarkable effective rate is 25.9%. Generally, taking traditional Chinese medicine for 3-5 days will have a curative effect, and the effect of eliminating phlegm and relieving cough is obvious.

(3) Therapeutic effect on digestive system diseases.

There are many reports about the effect of seabuckthorn in treating gastric ulcer. Six patients died of gastric ulcer, esophageal ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the clinical hospital of Xi Medical University. After treatment with sea buckthorn oil, there were 8 cases 10, accounting for 50%, 8 cases were markedly effective, accounting for 22%, 9 cases were effective and 2.8% were ineffective10. The total effective rate is as high as 97%. Seabuckthorn oil is also used to treat various inflammations and dysentery in the intestine. In addition, medical research has proved that seabuckthorn oil has obvious bactericidal effect on Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic streptococcus, typhoid bacteria, Shigella, Enterobacter and some anaerobic bacteria, so it has therapeutic effect on various inflammatory syndromes.

(4) Therapeutic effect on burns and scalds.

Seabuckthorn oil can promote tissue regeneration and prevent skin tissue from healing. Good results have been achieved in the clinical treatment of burns, scalds, knife wounds and frostbite. 35 cases of burn were treated in Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, including 4 cases of shallow I degree 17 cases of shallow II degree17 cases and 4 cases of deep II degree. Treated with sea buckthorn oil for 3-7 days, it basically recovered, and the total effective rate was 100%.

(5) Anti-cancer effect of Hippophae rhamnoides extract.

In recent years, scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of animal research on the effect of Acanthopanax senticosus extract on cancer cells. The experimental results in vivo showed that Hippophae rhamnoides extract had certain inhibitory effects on sarcoma (S 180), melanoma (B 16) and lymphocytic leukemia (P388). In vitro experiments showed that Hippophae rhamnoides extract had direct killing effects on sarcoma (S 180), lymphocytic leukemia (L 12 10, P388), human leukemia cells and human gastric cancer cells.

China Shaanxi Cancer Institute and Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital have achieved remarkable results in treating tumors with China Seabuckthorn Oil. A total of 40 cases were observed, including esophageal cancer 16 cases, cardiac cancer 3 cases, lung cancer 5 cases, gastric cancer 6 cases, breast cancer 4 cases and lymphoma 6 cases. The effective rate was 72% and 88%.

Third, the application value of seabuckthorn in beauty and makeup

In China, it is made into daily cosmetics such as shampoo, sunscreen cream, skin cream, beauty cream and solution by using its rich nutrients and biochemical active substances, which has the effects of nourishing skin, promoting cell metabolism, promoting epithelial tissue regeneration, causing allergies, sterilizing and protecting the natural color of skin, and has achieved good results.
