Different wavelengths of radar have their own advantages and disadvantages
1. Centimeter-wave radar: with the advantages of small size, light weight, long range and high resolution, it is commonly used in missile guidance, tracking, remote control and target measurement. However, centimeter-wave radar is not effective for stealth aircraft, because stealth aircraft can absorb, scatter and refract radar waves to achieve the purpose of stealth.
2. Millimeter-wave radar: small size, light weight, high resolution, and smoke, dust and other environmental conditions have a strong ability to penetrate, commonly used in missile guidance, tracking, remote control and target measurement. However, the detection distance of millimeter-wave radar is closer than centimeter-wave radar, and is more susceptible to atmospheric interference.
3. Infrared radar: small size, light weight, high resolution, can work at night or under bad weather conditions, commonly used in missile guidance, tracking, remote control and target measurement. However, the detection distance of infrared radar is shorter, and the recognition of certain materials (such as aluminum) is poor.
4. LIDAR: with high precision, high resolution, strong anti-jamming ability and other advantages, commonly used in terrain measurement, target identification. However, the detection distance of LiDAR is shorter, and the penetration ability of rain, fog and other environmental conditions is poor.
5. Microwave radar: high precision, high resolution, strong anti-jamming capability and other advantages, commonly used in missile guidance, tracking, remote control and target measurement. However, the detection distance of microwave radar is shorter, and the recognition of certain materials (such as aluminum) is poor.
6. Ultra-long-wave radar: with the role of long distance, positioning accuracy is not high, signal attenuation and other advantages, commonly used in strategic alert and missile warning. However, the resolution of ultra-long-wave radar is low, and cannot recognize smaller targets.
7. Long-wave (meter-wave) radar: has a larger range and higher positioning accuracy, commonly used in battle-level air alert and air combat guidance. Rice wave radar also has some defense capability against stealth aircraft.
In summary, various wavelength radars have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the appropriate radar should be selected according to specific application scenarios.
