Brief introduction of stone pillars in Yongkang traditional ancient village
There is an ancient village called "Shang Yue" in Fogang County, Qingyuan City, which is more than 0/00 km north of Guangzhou. Although humble, not many people know it, but as long as you meet it, you can meet a corner far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, listen to the pure tranquility, savor the story of time carefully, and you will find a precious world here.
Shang Yue Village was founded in Song Dynasty and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is an ancient Lingnan village with a history of more than 720 years. It has an ancient style and profound connotation. This original ecological village seems to have been forgotten in time, but the world has gradually discovered its beauty, so that it has been awarded the reputation of "the most beautiful village in Guangdong Province", "the ancient village in Guangdong Province" and "the famous village in Chinese history and culture".
As early as the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the famous Zhu was unfortunately martyred while escorting the Southern Song Emperor to goldfish mouth in Beijiang. His son fled to Shang Yue village and settled down in the war. Most of the villagers living here today are the 32nd generation descendants of Zhu.
The whole village here is built on the mountain and surrounded by water. Villagers live around the house, surrounded by four-month buildings in the southeast and northwest. There are 65,438+08 Li, 65,438+08 gatehouses, 65,438+08 fish ponds and 65,438+08 ancient wells in the village respectively, forming a Li-style courtyard with a center, two residential plots and streets connected in series.
In the ancient village of Shang Yue, most of the building facilities are still well preserved, which is a typical Guangdong "Guangfu culture" ancient architectural complex and is famous for its pot-ear houses. The so-called "wok ear" means pot ear in Cantonese. This kind of building is the representative of traditional houses in Lingnan. Most of them are made of blue bricks, stone pillars and slates, and the outer walls have flower-and-bird patterns. Because its gables are shaped like pot ears, it is called "pot ear house".
Today, there are hundreds of well-preserved pot-ear houses in the ancient village of Shang Yue, and the architectural style belongs to Lingnan style in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The shape of the Hu 'er House looks like an official hat worn by Ming officials. It is said that this kind of house was not built at will by ordinary people in those days, and only owners with fame and fortune and prominent family background were qualified to build it.
Interestingly, there is a saying among local people that the construction of this kind of pot-ear house can bless the prosperity and good fortune of future generations. Therefore, the ancient folk houses here can be said to contain profound architectural art essence, with distinctive Lingnan architectural art style: blue bricks and tiles, carved beams and painted buildings, gray plastic painting, embossed wood carving, which is amazing.
Shang Yue ancient village is a large-scale and well-preserved ancient village in Song Dynasty in Guangdong, even in the Pearl River Delta region where Lingnan culture is developed. The path in the village is paved with gravel, which seems to cross back to the intriguing old times.
