How to build an efficient classroom in junior high school English teaching?
First, junior high school English classroom teaching problems
According to the characteristics of junior high school English new target textbooks, it is not difficult to see that improving the efficiency of junior high school English classroom teaching can not only improve students' English foundation, but also improve their practical language ability and cross-cultural communication ability. Then, what teaching difficulties do teachers face in junior high school English classroom teaching?
First, for most junior high school students, the new target English textbooks in junior high school are difficult, with a large vocabulary and many contents, which is an objective problem faced by teachers in English classroom teaching. For most grade seven students, English teaching in primary schools has not been carried out normally, and students have not really learned much English knowledge. The junior high school English textbooks are based on primary school English teaching, so students will easily lose confidence and interest in the face of the sharp increase in vocabulary after entering junior high school.
Second, learning English requires students' great interest. However, today's students lack the enthusiasm and initiative to learn in class. They seem to be used to the teacher's centralized mode, and have little sense of participation in some group activities arranged by the teacher in class, which makes it difficult to carry out situational teaching in some classroom teaching.
Third, many teachers have outdated teaching concepts and still use some outdated teaching methods and concepts to organize classroom teaching. Teachers' personal charm can't attract students to the classroom. In addition, some teachers can't learn new teaching theories in time, can't use multimedia teaching, and classroom teaching is not interesting enough to stimulate students' interest in learning.
Second, some suggestions on constructing efficient classroom teaching of junior high school English
1. Renew teaching concepts and fully implement quality education.
Teaching reform is accomplished through the teaching of every teacher. The change of students' learning style is based on the change of teachers' teaching behavior. The Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform clearly points out that it is necessary to change the situation that the curriculum implementation overemphasizes learning, rote memorization and mechanical training, advocate students' active participation, willingness to explore and diligent hands-on, and cultivate students' abilities of collecting and processing information, acquiring new knowledge, analyzing and solving problems, and communicating and cooperating.
2. Clever use of teaching methods, active classroom atmosphere.
For students in China, learning English itself lacks a language environment, so they think English is a boring language. Then, as a teacher, how to skillfully use teaching methods to enliven the classroom atmosphere? I think we should skillfully use some proverbs, proverbs, ballads, riddles and games to stimulate students' rise, especially in the new junior high school textbooks.
For example, when I was teaching Unit 5 of Grade Three, "It must believe to Carla", I used such a ballad to help students remember and skillfully use modal verbs to express speculative usage. Teaching students in the form of reciting;
Whose book is this? Whose book is this?
It can't be mine, it can't be mine.
My book is here, my book is here.
Whose book is this? Whose book is this?
It may be Tom's, it may be Tom's.
His book is lost, his book is lost.
Whose book is this? Whose book is this?
It must be Ann, it must be Ann.
Her name is on it, her name is on it.
This will not only help students learn the important grammar of this lesson, but also enliven the classroom atmosphere and stimulate students' interest in learning. The classroom effect is very obvious and students' participation is very high.
3. Encourage students to study independently and advocate cooperative learning.
First of all, autonomous learning is relative to passive learning. It is high-quality learning under teaching conditions and active learning. It can stimulate students' strong learning needs and interests, not only to think and explore the learning content, but also to enrich students' own learning experience, so that students can gain a profound emotional experience, change "want me to learn" into "I want to learn", change passive learning into active learning, and give students enough time and space for independent activities. Secondly, cooperative learning can transform individual competition into inter-group competition, so as to truly realize the goal that every student can develop. Cooperative learning, as opposed to "individual learning", refers to a form of learning organization in which students help each other in the process and complete the division of labor in groups. Implementing group activities in class has become an effective interactive strategy.
The English teaching concept of the new curriculum requires teachers not only to go deep into textbooks, but also to study and explore new teaching methods, learn some new teaching concepts in time, cultivate students' autonomy and enthusiasm in learning from the perspective of students' development, and guide students' learning strategies and methods. Only in this way can we establish an efficient English classroom. In a word, "efficient and quick" is a hot topic in today's society. As an English teacher, we should keep pace with the times. It is the responsibility of all our English teachers to build an efficient English classroom, and it is also the requirement of this new era.
