Introduction of 24-Style Taijiquan

The 24-Style Simplified Taijiquan, also known as Simplified Taijiquan, was created by the National Sports Commission (now the State General Administration of Sports) in 1956 by organizing Taijiquan specialists to draw on the essence of Yang's Taijiquan. Although it has only 24 movements, compared with the traditional taijiquan routines, its content is more concise, its movements are more standardized, and it can also fully reflect the movement characteristics of taijiquan.

The so-called "quietness of mind" means that when practicing taijiquan, the mind should exclude all distractions and not be disturbed by the outside world. The so-called "body relaxation" is not the body's relaxation and fatigue, but refers to the practice of boxing to maintain the correct posture of the body on the basis of conscious let the whole body joints, muscles, and internal organs to achieve maximum relaxation.

Taijiquan breathing methods include natural breathing, abdominal breathing, abdominal reverse breathing and fist breathing. The above breathing methods, regardless of which one is used, should be natural, even fine, slowly gulping, and natural with the movement. Beginners use natural breathing.
