What is ramie and what fabric is ramie?

1. Ramie is a subshrub or shrub plant of the genus Ramie in Urticaceae. Nicknames: wild ramie (Guangdong, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei and Anhui), wild ramie (Guizhou, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hubei, Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu), domestic ramie (Jiangxi), ramie (Taiwan Province Province), green ramie (Guangxi and Hubei) and white ramie (Guangxi).

2. Ramie cloth is usually called summer cloth. It consists of 12 manual processes such as planting hemp, soaking hemp, peeling hemp, rinsing, hemp properties, yarn formation, twisting, carding hemp, rowing and spinning. Because the raw material ramie contains heavy gum and irregular hemp strips, it can't be produced on a large scale by machine, and the production mode depends on manual production. Output is also affected by the weather.
