Why is Confucianism divided into Rigaku and Xinxue?
Because Rigaku and Xinxue represent different systems of thought.
Reasoning refers to the dominant Taoism of the Song Dynasty, which was dominated by Luo Xue, and culminated in Zhu Xi of the Southern Song Dynasty, who took "reason" as the highest category of the system of thought, and was later accustomed to use "reasoning" to refer to its system of thought. Psychology refers to the Song Dynasty and in the Ming Dynasty in the middle and late dominant "heart" as the highest category of the system of thought, Lu Jiubuan, Wang Shouren as the representative of the "psychology".
Causes
1. The bottleneck in the development of Confucianism prompted reforms within Confucianism;
2. The impact of Buddhism and Taoism;
3. The ideology of the unity of the three religions;
4. The imperfections of the Confucian theories of cosmology, ontology, and nature of mind after the separation of Confucianism and Taoism from the pre-Qin dynasties;
5. The personal efforts of the scholars of science. Proposed revival of rationalism;
6. Confucianism's orthodox status was dealt a blow.
Expanded Information:
Song and Ming philosophy is a historical manifestation of Confucianism, following the transformation of Confucianism and metaphysics by the Wei and Jin dynasties, Song and Ming philosophy is a powerful revival of Confucianism, which has been gradually declining since the Sui and Tang dynasties. This revival of Confucianism movement, by the Sui and Tang dynasty Wang Tong sent its first voice, by the middle of the Tang dynasty after the Han Yu, Li Ao, Liu Zongyuan and others to follow its successor, and to the two Song dynasty is a great sight.
Forming a powerful, magnificent and far-reaching Confucianism movement.
The Confucian movement lasted until the Ming and Qing dynasties, and its influence has been felt up to the present day; in space, the Confucian movement was not limited to the hometown of Confucianism, but also involved the countries in East Asia that were influenced by Confucianism, so much so that in these countries the so-called Confucianism is mainly the science of reasoning (or the science of sexuality);
Song and Ming philosophy was a positive reaction by the Chinese academic community with ambition and thought to the challenges posed by the realities of social problems as well as by the challenges posed by the foreign Buddhist and indigenous Taoist cultures. On the basis of digesting and absorbing the ideas of Buddhism and Taoism, they launched a cultural offensive against Buddhism and Taoism, similar to that of Mencius, which was called "repelling Buddhism and Lao", and sought to solve the extremely serious crisis of faith and moral crisis in Chinese society since the end of the Han Dynasty.
The Song Dynasty was the first time that the Chinese people had been able to realize that the Chinese people had been in a state of crisis.
Song and Ming philosophies reflected the philosophical wisdom born out of thinking and solving the real social and cultural problems by the thoughtful and insightful Chinese in the later period of ancient Chinese society, which y affected the social development and civilization in the latter half of the period of ancient Chinese society, and the modern Chinese still have to face the social and cultural consequences caused by it. However, it is also the fruit of this wisdom that has successfully responded to Buddha and Lao and brought Confucianism back to the position of orthodoxy.
We study the philosophical wisdom of Rigaku not only to understand how it answered and solved the social and cultural problems of the time, but also, and more importantly, to analyze it in order to help us ponder such questions as "what is the spirit of the Chinese nation", "how to respond correctly to foreign cultures", "how to make a correct response", and "what is the spirit of the Chinese people". More importantly, the analysis of the book also helps us to ponder some philosophical questions that are still important to the present time, such as "what is the spirit of the Chinese nation", "how to correctly respond to foreign cultures", and "how to correctly face and deal with the crisis of faith and morality that prevails in the members of the society".
Re-establishing the faith of the people of China is precisely the significance of the wisdom of science.
