Hebei dialect is characterized by a variety of differences between the Seychelles and the Central Plains, between immigrants and indigenous peoples, between nomadic hunting and farming peoples, and by a multifaceted ****existence. It is divided into an official dialect area represented by the Baoding dialect (Jilu dialect area), the Tangshan dialect (which is now roughly classified into the Jilu dialect Baotang area, together with the Baoding dialect), the Qinhuangdao dialect (Northeastern dialect area), and part of the areas near Beijing (Beijing dialect area), and a Jin dialect area represented by Handan dialect. (which differs considerably from Mandarin), and in recent years, some areas represented by the provincial capital of Shijiazhuang have shown a gradual movement of the language closer to Beijing Mandarin.
