The origin of Baicha Village: According to legend, the ancestors of seven villages in Jiangbian Township, such as Baicha, Guojie, Tiantou, Nanlong, Ocha, Gangou, and Nawen, originally lived in the area of Tianchi on the Jianfengling Mountain, and more than 100 years ago, there was a kind of flying insect called "Baifengcrackle" in Li language which stung a lot of people to death, and they migrated to Gong'ai Township of Dongfang City, and then a part of the people moved to Baicha Village to reside. Later, some of them moved to live in Baicha Village. Baicha Village is called "Beiqiao" in Mei Foo dialect, and the word "Bei" in Li language is a muddy field with water, and the word "Beiqiao" is a thick-barked tree, and at that time, there was a muddy field with water beside the village, and a lot of thick-barked trees were growing in the vicinity of this field, so they started a new name. At that time, there was a watery mud field near the village and there were many thick-barked trees growing near the mud field, so they named the village "Bie Qiao", which means thick-barked trees near the mud field, and "Bai Cha" is the phonetic translation of the Li language.
