What is Jiuzu?
"Jiuzu" is a general term for some people with close blood relationship in China traditional culture. However, in different dynasties and under different circumstances, the specific meaning of "Jiuzu" is not exactly the same.
The theory of "Nine Clans" was first seen in Yao Dian: "Be virtuous and pro-Nine Clans". In the feudal society of China, it often happened that "nine clans were destroyed after the door was hacked". Among them, "exterminating the nine clans" is a system that implicated the nine clans in feudal society, that is, one person committed a big crime and wanted to implicate his nine clans' relatives.
There have always been different opinions about people related to nine families. There are two common views:
1, counting from oneself, up to great-grandfather and down to great-grandson, is called "Nine Families", specifically: counting from oneself: father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-grandfather; Counting from oneself: sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and myself, a total of nine generations.
2. It refers to the blood relationship with different surnames, that is, four paternal families (father's own four generations), three matriarchal families (mother's own three generations) and two wives' families (wife's own two generations), which together form nine families.
(1) Patriarchal family IV: refers to one's own family (including parents, brothers, sisters, children, etc. ), plus married aunt and her son's family, married sister and nephew's family, married daughter and grandson's family.
(2) Mother's family III: refers to grandfather's family, grandmother's maiden, aunt and her son's family.
(3) Wife's family 2: refers to the father-in-law's family and the mother-in-law's family.
Historically, when Ming Taizu killed Fang Xiaoru, he once killed his "ten families". The so-called "top ten clansmen" means adding the top ten clansmen of students to the top nine clansmen. At that time, 873 people were killed by people around them, and more than a thousand people were exiled by other relatives. It's called "Guaman Copy", which is extremely cruel.
