Why is IKEA Distribution Center in Songjiang District?

With the strong support and coordination of Shanghai Municipal Government and Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, AQSIQ approved IKEA Asia-Pacific Logistics Distribution Center to implement the new export inspection and quarantine model pilot.

In view of the successful operation experience and good economic benefits of Songjiang Logistics Distribution Center, IKEA Group decided to invest another US$ 6,543.8+0.5 billion in Shanghai in 2006 to build an Asia-Pacific warehousing and logistics center with bonded function in Fengxian District, covering an area of about 40 square meters. The plot will be used to build the largest logistics distribution center in IKEA Asia Pacific. Among them, the first-phase logistics distribution center with an investment of more than 80 million US dollars was officially put into operation in June 2009. Logistics distribution centers include bonded areas and non-bonded areas. Compared with the traditional bonded warehouse, it is more advanced and can flexibly adjust the area of bonded and non-bonded areas to a certain extent, thus making full use of the overall storage capacity.

Sales mainly include chair/sofa series, office supplies, bedroom series, kitchen series, lighting series, textiles, cookware series, home storage series and children's products series.
