What's the difference between slope protection and bank protection?

Slope protection (revetment) is also a form of revetment, and there is no specific and strict difference and boundary between them.

This kind of building is usually called revetment. The forms of bank protection include direct protection and indirect protection. Direct protection is to directly reinforce the bank slope of the river and resist the erosion and erosion of water flow. Riprap, dry rubble, mortar rubble, gabions and pointed beams are usually used in buildings. Indirect protection is suitable for river sections with wide riverbed or long protection length, and groins, shun dams and lattice dams can be built to lift water away from the river banks.

According to the function of slope protection, it can be roughly divided into two types: slope protection workers who only resist weathering and erosion and do not bear lateral earth pressure, such as shotcrete slope protection, frame vegetation slope protection, vegetation slope protection, etc., which are only suitable for gentle and stable slopes without sliding.

Soil retaining and slope protection that provides sliding resistance can be roughly divided into: rigid gravity retaining wall (such as masonry retaining wall, gravity retaining wall, reclining retaining wall, hanging retaining wall and buttress retaining wall), flexible gravity retaining wall (such as snake cage retaining wall, frame retaining wall and stiffening retaining wall) and pull anchor retaining wall (such as pull anchor lattice beam retaining wall and pull anchor row pile retaining wall).
