How to peel and shell chestnut
1. Chopsticks shelling method: Chestnut shells are hard, so if you want to remove all chestnuts shells, you can find a pair of chopsticks. After the discovery, everyone needs to talk to chestnut, but usually we find it difficult to talk. Because chestnuts are slippery, they are easy to slip when we open them again. So we can put chestnuts between two chopsticks and cut them into crosses with a knife. After cutting, we can soak it directly in water.
Second, the bottle cap shelling method: find a bottle cap, generally the bottle cap is relatively large, and we can put chestnuts in it. Then draw a cross knife on the chestnut so that it can easily open its mouth. Finally, we will steam these chestnuts on a steamer, so that we don't have to get wet and worry about their taste being destroyed.
Third, the tail cutting method: generally, the middle of chestnut is hard, but its tail will be soft, so friends with less strength can cut off the tail of chestnut with a knife. After cutting, we will soak it in boiling water for about ten minutes, so as to remove its shell.
Fourth, the refrigerator freezing method: wash the chestnut, and then put it into the pot to cook. After cooking, we put it in the refrigerator and freeze it for about two hours, then we can take it out and shell it. Frozen chestnuts are easy to shell and relatively complete, so don't worry about breaking them. It can be used to make soup, or it can be eaten directly after peeling.
Selection method of chestnut:
Look at the appearance first: fresh chestnuts will have a fine layer of fluff outside, and the color is reddish brown. If there is no fluff on the outside of chestnuts and the color is dark, it is likely that chestnuts have been kept for a long time and smell old. In addition, the taste of chestnuts does not depend on their size. On the contrary, smaller chestnuts may be sweeter and more delicious.
Second, look at the shape: the shape of chestnut can be roughly divided into two types, one is semi-circular and the other is flat, which is related to the growth of chestnut. Generally, there are three chestnuts in a whole prickly chestnut skin, which are semicircular on both sides and flat in the middle, while the two sides are naturally sweeter due to sunlight, but not very sweet in the middle.
Third, look at the bug eye: whether chestnuts are sweet or not is the second. If there are many bug eyes in chestnuts, it will be wasted. First, there are obvious holes in the bottom, and second, there are obvious black spots in the chestnut skin, so don't listen to the merchants' attention when buying chestnuts, or choose carefully.
Fourth, shake it: pick up the chestnuts and shake them. If it makes a noise, then this chestnut can't be used. This chestnut has shrunk and walked for a long time. The chestnuts inside may have turned black, but they are full when picked up. If it can't be pressed, it will be fresh chestnuts.
