This paper analyzes the folk literature characteristics of Snail Girl's Story.

The prototype of the snail girl appeared in the lost essays "The Postscript of Searching for God" and "The Story of Yuan Hua" in the Tang Dynasty, and it has been circulated for more than 1000 years. There are different names such as "snail wife" and "snail person" in the notes of scholars in past dynasties and in folk oral circulation. The stories in the literati's notes have roughly two themes: First, the hero abides by feudal morality. Although he was poor for a while, he finally got the praise of God and sent a goddess to help him in various ways. The main purpose is to persuade people to do good and abide by feudal morality and order. Second, the hero's love affair is written, that is, writing a "miracle", which reflects the hero's romantic good luck, the main purpose is to encourage and admire, and it is a manifestation of the vulgar taste of feudal literati. As an excellent folktale, The Girl in the River Snail has removed the role of Heaven Emperor and the theme of rewarding feudal morality and expressing the interest of feudal literati, and highlighted the kindness, diligence and loneliness of the protagonist. The heroine came to the world for love, married a young man, lived an equal life, and pursued a better life. This mythical thing is obviously to express some good wishes of people. As an academic term, Folk Literature sponsored by China Folk Literature Research Association has a wide influence on folk literature and the masses. It only appeared and became popular after the May 4th New Culture Movement. It refers to the language art of the working people-the oral creation of the people. This kind of literature includes prose myths, folklore, folk stories, rhyming songs, long narrative poems and folk opera works, rap literature, proverbs and riddles.
