What is a marionette?
This object is an ancient puppet of China.
Puppet Show, called "Li Jia" or "suspension spring Puppet Show" in ancient times, originated in Qin and Han Dynasties and was popular in Quanzhou and its surrounding areas in the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. The performance of marionette is mainly pulled by artists with strings, and the action of marionette is controlled by lifting strings, hence the name "marionette".
Puppet puppet show is a traditional drama in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, also known as "Kerry Opera".
