The origin and culture of the Qiang calendar year
The origin and culture of the Qiang Calendar Year are introduced as follows:
I. Origin:
The Qiang people originated in southwestern China, and can be traced back to the Late Neolithic period, around the third millennium BC. According to archaeological evidence, the ancestors of the Qiang first inhabited the border areas of Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu and Tibet, where they led a life based on hunting, fishing and farming.
II. Historical Evolution:
In the long course of history, the Qiang have experienced many migrations and changes of rulers. During the Western Zhou Dynasty, they were a part of the Xirong and had exchanges with the civilization of the Central Plains. With the rise of the Qin Dynasty, the Qiang became an important tribe on the southwestern border, and during the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, they were recognized as "Qiang Yi".
The Han Dynasty was the most glorious period in the history of the Qiang. The three tribes of Western Qiang, Southern Qiang and Northern Qiang were formed in Ba Shu, South and North respectively, and a complete political and military system was established, with the emergence of many outstanding patriarchs and generals. At the same time, the Qiang established good communication and trade relations with the Han, promoting the prosperity of both cultures.
With the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, the status of the Qiang was once again elevated. During the reign of Emperor Wenzong of the Tang Dynasty, the Anxi Capital Office was set up, and the Qiang-dominated army made repeated successes in battles in the Western Regions. This period was also a period of cultural prosperity for the Qiang, with sculpture, painting, music and other art forms flourishing.
After the Ming Dynasty, the Qiang gradually integrated into the Chinese family and prospered with other ethnic groups***. However, they still retained their own unique language, costumes and customs, and became part of China's multiculturalism.
Third, cultural characteristics:
The Qiang are famous for their unique and diversified culture. The first is the language of the Qiang, which belongs to the Tibetan-Burmese language family and has its own writing and grammar system. The second is the dress. Qiang men and women are magnificently decorated, focusing on the matching of colors and patterns, especially represented by Qiang embroidery and Qiang brocade. In addition, the Qiang also have a rich variety of music and dance, such as Qiang flute, Qiang drums, etc., as well as unique festivals and traditional customs.
The Qiang culture has fused elements from the Han, Tibetan and other ethnic groups to form its own unique artistic style. Representative works include Qiang murals, stone carvings and tapestries. These art works not only show the wisdom and creativity of the Qiang people, but also reflect their love and reverence for nature and life.
As one of China's ethnic minorities, the Qiang people have a long history and unique culture. They have experienced ups and downs and changes in the long river of history, but their brilliant culture has lasted for a long time. Upholding their traditions and beliefs, the Qiang people have made remarkable contributions to the prosperity of Chinese civilization.
It is thanks to their unremitting efforts that the Qiang culture has been handed down to the present day and has attracted the attention of the world with its unique charm. We should pay more attention to, respect and pass on the cultural heritage of the Qiang people, and contribute to the unity of the Chinese nation in its diversity.
