How to compact a powder cake

The Décolletage powder compact I bought the other day shattered! My heart broke with it ...... Undeterred, I went online to look for tips and decided to repress the powder myself! The tips vary: some say to use alcohol, some say not to~ some say to dissolve the powder first, some say to add a few drops of water when pressing. I'll share my own experience with you

Powder cake's corpse state

Just because the texture is too soft~ it crumbled when I sent it to you.

Step 1: Put the crushed powder into the container

Keep the bottom pan of the foundation, and scrape it clean~It's a good idea to put a clear, odorless lotion into the container of the foundation. (I don't use alcohol because I want to preserve the original scent of the powder)

Step 2: Put it back into the iron plate

The picture is dry, and it's hard to spread it evenly. This powder cake does not absorb water, and it is difficult to dissolve it by adding lotion directly, so put it back into the container and stir it with water.

Step 3: Inverted mold

Added a little too much makeup water, we control the amount of makeup water. I'm not really good at dissolving this one, and I want to try to get as much of the powder in the container into the iron disk as possible. That's right, you can't waste an ounce!

Step 4: Overnight drying

After drying, the powder is a bit loose. There's actually a lot of moisture inside.

Step 5: Absorb water

Cover with a thin, single-layer cotton pad and gently flatten the powder with a small, flat spoon. (In tests, it was found that pressing with a cylindrical object was not as good as a small flat spoon.) Soon the first cotton pad is wet.

Step 6: Re-absorb

Don't take away the first cotton pad! It's still very wet at this point! If you change the second one directly, you will get new foundation on the second cotton pad. So yes keep the first one and keep replacing the second one laid on top. I did this about 5 times until the foundation was basically compacted.

Step 7: Finished

After continuing to rest for a day became this state. It was originally a powder cake, but after pressing it, it became a powder cake ...... The color is a bit darker and denser than the original. But it works and I feel like I got a great deal back!

Only gouge: don't waste the foundation left in the container
