This paper briefly explains three historical methods of modern architectural revival in China, and points out their representative works.

: ① Retroism: This kind of buildings try to show the volume balance and overall outline of China classical buildings, and keep the abutment, roof and roof "composition". The roof tries to keep the width and proportion of beams and columns. The whole building does not surpass the basic shape of classical buildings, but maintains a set of traditional components and decorative details.

Masterpiece: Yang Tingbao designed the historical materials exhibition hall of Kuomintang Party history.

(2) Eclecticism: Breaking through the volume balance and overall outline of China classicism, the appearance presents the combination of the basic volume of foreign flavor and the additional components that can show the characteristics of China, such as the big roof.

Masterpiece: Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Memorial Hall designed by Lv Yanzhi.

③ Decorationism: On the basis of the new building volume, appropriately decorate the details of Chinese decoration as a symbol of national characteristics.

Masterpiece: The Foreign Ministry Building designed by Zhao Shen, Chen Zhi and Mao Dun.
