Japanese folktales: the story of Momotaro and the legend of Momotaro.
Today's stories in Momotaro are all about Momotaro, because an old woman found a big peach floating by the river while washing clothes. After the incision, she found a baby inside. But it's not really Momotaro's original.
The original version of Momotaro is described as follows: When the old woman was washing clothes by the river, she found a big peach floating in. After returning home, the old woman cut open and ate half of it, and immediately turned back into a girl. Grandpa was quite surprised when he got home, so he also ate the other half of the peach and recovered his youthful strength. That night, the two began intense sex, so they got pregnant and gave birth to a boy. The couple named the boy Momotaro.
The reason for this change is that in the 20th year of Meiji, the Japanese government intended to incorporate Momotaro into the official Chinese textbook for primary schools. However, because the sex story is not suitable for primary school students who have never been exposed to sex education, Momotaro's birth was revised. Up to now, many people have forgotten Momotaro's original story.
Momotaro is a famous figure in Japanese family, and there are many changes now. For example, the モモタロス (Peach talos) in Kamen Rider is based on Momotaro.
