Kite material and manufacturing technology
Kites are the earliest aircraft invented by human beings. It is made of some materials and it is not complicated to make. Next, I will introduce the materials and making process of kites.
1. Kite material
(1) Skeleton: The skeleton of the kite is the supporting structure of the kite, and the commonly used materials are bamboo, wood strips and bamboo strips. Bamboo is the most commonly used kite skeleton material because it is tough, light and cheap.
(2) Fabric: The fabric of the kite is used to wrap the skeleton. Commonly used materials are paper, cloth and plastic film. Paper kites are easy to tear and suitable for beginners to make; Cloth kites are durable, but heavy, suitable for windy weather; Plastic film kites are light and durable, but airtight. Pay attention to the thickness of the material.
(3) Tail: The tail of the kite is used to balance the center of gravity of the kite and prevent the kite from flying unsteadily. Commonly used materials are paper, cloth and so on.
(4) Spool: used to collect kite-flying threads, usually a small tool, used to wind the spool around the central shaft. Commonly used materials are bamboo, plastic and so on.
2. The process of making kites
(1) Preparation materials: select the required materials such as skeleton, fabric and tail.
(2) making skeleton: according to the design pattern, cut bamboo strips or wooden strips into the required shape, and then connect them with hemp rope or glue to form the skeleton.
(3) Covering the fabric: covering the selected fabric on the skeleton and fixing it with glue or adhesive tape. Pay attention to cover the fabric evenly on the skeleton without wrinkles.
(4) Tail making: According to the design requirements, the tail is made of suitable materials and then fixed under the kite.
(5) Thread tying wheel: Fix the thread tying wheel on the upper part of the kite, thread through the hole in the center of the thread tying wheel, wind the thread tying wheel several times, and then tie the thread end to the bamboo.
(6) Tie the thread: Pull out the thread from the reel, pay attention to keeping the thread tight, and then let it out, so that the kite can fly.
Although kite making is simple, it needs patience and care. After being made, it can not only fly, but also bring endless fun to people.
