The origin of dragon boat
Dragon boat is a branch of dragon culture and a unique folk culture in China. Dragon boat race is a traditional folk water sport and entertainment, which is often held on festive festivals, and multi-person collective rowing competition is also one of the main customs of Dragon Boat Festival. When it comes to the origin of dragon boat, people usually think of Qu Yuan, but in fact, the appearance of dragon boat is much earlier than Qu Yuan, which can be traced back to the end of primitive society. In the ancient south of China, people often used boats as production tools and means of transportation. In their spare time, they got together to row boats and race to entertain their labor, production and leisure. This is the prototype of ancient racing cars.
There are many opinions about the origin of the dragon boat, such as offering sacrifices to Cao E, Qu Yuan, the water god, etc. It is believed that it originated in Yuanling, but the most widely circulated and accepted one is to commemorate Qu Yuan.
