Three-dimensional sketch (learning the basic skills of three-dimensional painting)

Three-dimensional sketch is one of the basic skills to learn three-dimensional painting, that is, to express the shape and sense of space of a cube on drawing paper through lines and shadows. Cube is one of the most basic geometric bodies in three-dimensional space, and mastering the skills of cube sketch is very important for learning the performance of other three-dimensional objects.

Preparatory work/about to start work

Before sketching a cube, you need to prepare some tools and materials:

1. Pencil: It is recommended to use three kinds of pencils with hardness of H, HB and 2B, so that there will be different changes and thicknesses when drawing lines.

2. Eraser: Choose an eraser suitable for your own use and erase the wrong lines and shadows.

3. drawing paper: Choose a drawing paper that suits you. It is suggested to use a smoother drawing paper to make the drawing smoother.

operation sequence/order

1. Draw the outline of the cube: first draw a square on the drawing paper with a pencil, and this square is the bottom of the cube. Then, draw a square parallel to the bottom above the square and connect the two squares with a straight line, which is the edge of the cube. Finally, a straight line is used to connect the corresponding points of the bottom surface and the side surface, thus completing the outline of the cube.

2. Determine the position of the light source: Before drawing shadows, you need to determine the position of the light source. The position of the light source will affect the shadow effect of the cube. Generally speaking, the position of light source is more common in the upper left or right of drawing paper.

3. Draw shadows: Draw corresponding shadows on the side and bottom of the cube with a pencil according to the determined light source position. When the light hits the side of the cube, half of the side will be illuminated and the other half will be blocked, so it is necessary to draw a light shadow on the side half and a dark shadow on the other half. On the bottom surface, because the angle of light shining on the bottom surface is relatively small, it is necessary to draw a light shadow in the center of the bottom surface and a dark shadow around it.

4. Add details: After the outline and shadow of the cube are drawn, you can add some details on the surface of the cube, such as texture and luster.
