China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival is jointly sponsored by China National Tourism Administration and Shandong Provincial People's Government. It is a large-scale international festival integrating commemorative activities, cultural activities, tourism activities, academic activities and scientific and technological economic activities. It has been identified as one of the national "China Tourism Festivals" by the National Tourism Administration, and pushed to the international tourism market as a top tourism product. Its rich Confucian cultural characteristics and colorful tourism activities attracted a large number of tourists at home and abroad, formed its own unique style and charm, and had a wide and far-reaching impact at home and abroad.

The predecessor of China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival is 1984, an international special tourism activity of "Confucius' Birthday Hometown Tour". Since 1984, Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, has made full use of the advantages of cultural tourism resources and held an annual "Confucius Birthday Hometown Tour" to perform antique music and dance in worship of Confucius, which has effectively promoted the opening up and the development of tourism. 1989, in order to better commemorate Confucius' outstanding contribution to human culture, carry forward China's excellent traditional culture, and promote Sino-foreign cooperation and friendship, with the approval of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, the activity of "Confucius' Birthday Hometown Tour" was changed to the annual International Confucius Culture Festival, which was held around Confucius' birthday (September 28th in Gregorian calendar), that is, from September 26th to 65438+.

The purpose of China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival is to commemorate Confucius and promote excellent national culture. Commemorative activities are closely combined with cultural exchanges, tourism and economic and technological cooperation to achieve the purpose of commemorating sages, exchanging cultures, developing tourism, promoting openness, prospering economy and enhancing friendship. Its characteristics are: integrating commemorative, cultural, tourism, academic, artistic, economic and trade, scientific and technological activities, with rich and colorful contents; Gulu culture has remarkable characteristics and strong local flavor; Large-scale and internationalization; There are various forms of holding and strong social participation.

Over the years, China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival has been well-known at home and abroad for its distinctive features, unique style and charm, and has won the appreciation of people from all walks of life at home and abroad, with more and more people coming here. According to statistics, from 1989 to 2004, during the continuous Confucius Cultural Festival 16, there were 2.6 million visitors from all walks of life at home and abroad, including more than 50,000 foreign guests, overseas compatriots and overseas Chinese from more than 40 countries and regions such as the United States, Japan and France.

In 2005, China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival will continue to be held in Qufu, Confucius' hometown. Its guiding ideology is: under the guidance of Theory of Three Represents and the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee, highlighting the theme of "carrying forward excellent traditional culture, building a civilized and harmonious society, and promoting open, innovative and development", taking cultural activities as the carrier, focusing on cooperation and development, and adhering to the principles of government-led, market operation, plate linkage and mass participation, the Confucius Cultural Festival will be turned into an international cultural tourism festival and a grand event of scientific and technological economic cooperation. Further improve the opening level of Jining, and promote the sustained, coordinated and healthy development of the city's economy and social harmony and progress.

Main activities of 2005 China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival;

(A) cultural theme activities

1.At 8: 00 pm on September 26th, the opening ceremony of 2005 China Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival, large-scale special cultural evening and theme fireworks evening were held at Xingtan Theatre in Qufu. At the meeting, it is planned to read out the decision of UNESCO on approving the establishment of the International Confucius Prize.

On the morning of September 28th, "2005 Global Joint Sacrifice to Confucius" was held. CCTV cooperated with Shandong TV and other TV stations to jointly launch a large-scale live special program-"2005 Global Sacrifice to Confucius" on CCTV News Channel. The main venue of Confucius Festival is Qufu, with domestic live broadcast locations in Quzhou, Zhejiang, Jianshui, Yunnan, Wuwei, Gansu and Harbin, Heilongjiang, overseas live broadcast locations in Taipei, Seoul and Ashikaga, and European and American Confucius Festival live broadcast locations in new york, USA and Cologne, Germany. During this period, it is planned to hold a publicity activity of China cultural symbol city in Jiulongshan, Qufu, and insert advertisements in the activities of offering sacrifices to the Confucius.

4. From September 24th to 28th, the second sincere friendship activity between Confucius and Zeng was held. During the period, it is planned to hold an exhibition of Confucius and Zeng's achievements, establish an online database of Confucius and Zeng, and organize Confucius and Zeng to collectively plant trees in Jiulongshan District to create a "sacred forest".

(2) Theme activities of economy, trade and tourism.

2. From September 26th to 27th, the World Friendship between Confucian Merchants and the 2005 International Confucius Cultural Festival Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair was held in Jining. During this period, the World Federation of Confucian Merchants will be held, and investment promotion conferences for automobiles and construction machinery, textiles and garments will be held, as well as economic and trade cooperation talks for overseas guests (overseas Chinese leaders) from Qilu and Jining.

3. From September 25th to 26th, China Cultural Science and Technology Industry Development and Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair was held in Qufu.

4. From September 25th to 26th, "Jining Economic and Trade Fair of Taiwan Association of Six Cities in China" was held in Jining. Taiwan Province associations in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Suzhou and Kunshan are invited to participate with local Taiwanese businessmen.

5. From September 25th to 26th, "Promotion Conference of International Tourism Destination Marketing and Tourism Projects in the Hometown of Confucius and Mencius" was held in Qufu. Invite famous tourism marketing experts and travel agencies at home and abroad to participate. During this period, a new round of tourism planning in Jining will be promoted, and project investment will be invited.

Qufu will also hold the opening ceremony of the ancient city of Ming Dynasty, the tour of "three holes, two cities and four mountains", the study tour of Confucius' hometown, and other activities such as Broadway performances, square performances, scenic spots performances and series of calligraphy and painting exhibitions in the United States.
